Twilight BOM Mystery Quilt

Hi Everyone,

As of this month we are starting a Twilight themed BOM (Block of the Month) Quilt.

Each month (first weekend of everyone month) a new pattern will be posted.  There will be 2 versions of the quilt with a Beginners version for those that are new to it all, and an Advanced version for the more adventurous.

The patterns are all paper pieced style of quilting.  For tutorials on this type of quilt block work then you can find some video tutes and othe useful links on Sewhooked.org, or you can try the Twilight Quilters Coven tute on their blog.

We want everyone that joins in on this quilt to post pictures of their work, so at the end of each month we'll do a random draw of all the names of those that had posted pics that month and will offer a small prize of a Twilight Quilt Button and a Twilight BOM button.  To help us track your posts for our draw, please make sure you use the tag twibom with your post.  You will need to use the twibom tag to ensure that you are included in the monthly drawer.

The patterns will be all given as 5" blocks.  However do to the complicated nature of some of the Advanced blocks it is recommended that you enlarge these blocks by 200% to give you 10" blocks.

If at any time you have any problems during the BOM quilt with any of the patterns then send a pm to [info]hardhatcat  or [info]ofenjen  and we'll help you out as best as possible.

All patterns for this quilt are designed for and owned by hardhatcat.  While you are free to use these patterns for yourself, as gifts or for charity fund raisers, it is requested that you do not use these designs for items that you intend to sell.

Well time to get started:

Beginners Pattern #1

(slight errata for pattern: unnumbered corner pieces should be 7, 8 & 9 in a clockwise manner)

Advanced Pattern #1
(example shown  pieced by Elizabeth from TQC)

Happy Sewing!

Ok. I'm going to give the beginner patterns of this a go. I really like the advanced one, but when I actually looked at the pattern itself I decided to go back to the beginner one, lol. So many pieces! You designers are amazing and so talented...

Start with the easy ones first. Who knows, but by the end of it you may be up for trying the more difficult ones by then! Not all of the advanced ones are crazy hard, so maybe down the track you may want to try one or two of them

I can fix it.I'm not into the Twilight movie but When I saw this quilt I knew this would be my nieces' b-day gift, or christmas.Sorry I can't post my block, no camera or scan. Talk at you soon, thank-you

Re: BOM 2
You can find both April blocks in this post. All patterns are shared as-is.

Please be considerate when commenting here on [info]twilight_crafts. All patterns have been designed and are being shared by one of our moderators for free as a courtesy to our members.

I'm in!
I am going to try to make both blocks each month (the beginner ones for a smaller wall hanging (6" blocks) and the advanced ones for a bigger piece.

I finished the beginner block, but don't know where to post the picture.

Crazy for PP
Hey everyone. I'm extremely new to LJ, so new I can't figure out how to add photos! *rolls eyes* Although I made the advanced FF block almost a year ago, I couldn't resist going along with this BOM....Cat you've turned me into a PP fanatic! Plus I LOVE apples. So, I made 2 of the beginner, one 3", one 2", using different fabrics for fun. Now off to figure out how to get photos up!!!

Perhaps a stupid question, but how do I get the pattern to print at 200%?

You can either print it at 100% and then cut out the pieces and then enlarge it on a photocopier to 200% setting. Or check you settings on your printer and see if you can print it to 200% there.

Re: Help
Hi there! I'm answering on behalf of [info]hardhatcat, who has been busy having a baby this last week.

I've sent you an invitation to the community, so you just need to follow the instructions to join. If, by some chance, you don't get the invite in your email, you can find it here.

For future reference, to pm someone, just put your cursor over the little LJ head by the username of the person you want to message. A little box will pop up and one of the options is "send message".

Happy crafting!
